Fundação Teresa Regojo para o Desenvolvimento
Incorporated in December 2003 as an NGDO, it is a private institution that enjoys the status of a legal person of public utility, with the superior interest of the activities carried out being recognized for patronage purposes.
The foundation supports a number of social projects in Portugal and abroad, particularly in Mozambique, where it makes a significant contribution to the social projects of the Archdiocese of Nampula.
Among other initiatives, the Foundation has been particularly active in the area of health, particularly in Mozambique, where it co-sponsored the reconstruction of Marrere Hospital (laboratory, obstetrics block, operating room, laundry) and surrounding infrastructure (sewage, electricity and water collection). Also in this area, it has established a number of protocols with organizations such as the Portuguese League Against Aids and organizations responsible for combating diseases such as leprosy, to prevent and improve the conditions of the affected population in the region.
